SHARKS
HIT DOUBLE FIGURES AGAIN
The Solway Sharks
travelled down to Sub Zero in Cleveleys for the
second Saturday in a row again returning victorious after a
fourteen-three
win. In the process they netted the ENL record for
goals scored in a season (256) and with Adam
Reynolds 2+2 giving him 102 ENL points for the
season.
After
struggling to come to terns with the small ice pad
last weekend the Sharks took the game to a dangerous
and eager Flyers side scoring four unanswered goals
in the first period through Lewis Gold, Connor
McCallum, Frazer Goldie and Nathan Salem.
After
the first interval Richard Hulme brought the home
fans to their feet when he converted an Elvis Veldze
pass but Adam Reynolds, Bob Chalmers and Nathan
Salem all found the net to put Solway six ahead by
the mid-way point in the match. Janis Grinbergs
again reduced the deficit for the home side
but Adam Reynolds and Aaron Greger both found the
net before the second interval to make the score
nine-two Sharks.
In the
final session Mark Gallagher, Bob Chalmers, Nathan
Salem (2) and Struan Tonnar all found the net to put
the Sharks on easy street before bad tempers flared
and the penalty count rocketed. But the home fans
were the last to be on their feet cheering as two
minutes from timee big Elvis Veldze scored a
thundering trademark slapshot after a strong surge
took him through the heart of the Solway defence.
The game sheet is now on-line and a full
and
will be on-line later in the week.
