Ice DJ's Bio Page.

Looking back over what seams to be many moons ago now I started to get interested in music and bought my first 7 inch vinyl record which was “Embarrassment” by Madness.

My taste in music developed over the years and I still have great memories of the days where I used to go to the local youth club or just sat at home listening to bands such as Bad Manners, The Specials, The Beat and The Selector who were all under the Ska/2 Tone banner as this type of music was called back then, my top band of the time were Madness who I still think are great to this day and if I happen to be at a  party and Madness comes on the sound system its hard not to dance to them.

When I lived with my stepbrother around the same time that I was getting into music I used to think he was trying to torture me by making me listen to bands such as The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa etc, etc. I started to see after a while that this was to prove to be my learning curve with music and which helped set me on the road to becoming a DJ. I got more into the Rock side of music which is my preferred type of music these days (but will listen to most stuff). I then started to listen and learn about the different kinds of music that was going about at the time in the 1980’s but I was also learning about the music and hits of the 60’s and 70’s and had started collecting vinyl records from all of the decades.

As times changed I slowly progressed to using CD’s but I must admit it took me a while to change over from vinyl to CD as CD’s were new technology and I loved working with the old vinyl records. I have now progressed into the Hi-Tech world of using a laptop when I DJ and it didn’t take me long to make the change from CD’s to the laptop for a few reasons but the main reason probably being that all the music is on the laptops hard drive or on an external hard drive so I don’t have to carry cases of CD’s or vinyl records about with me anymore.

TURN IT UP AND PLAY IT LOUD
